Laurie Hoagland

Mr. Hoagland was a member of the 10Talents Investment Advisory Committee from the company’s founding in 2015 through 2022. We are grateful for his support and the credibility he lent to our fledgling organization as a world class investor in those early years. Mr. Hoagland was a luminary of the endowment and foundation investing community and served some of the most prestigious organizations in that field as an executive leading investment strategies in both public and private markets.

During his career, Mr. Hoagland was Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation from 2001-2013. Before that, he served nine years as President and CEO of Stanford Management Company, Stanford University’s $20 billion investment and real estate organization. For the 11 years prior to joining Stanford, Mr. Hoagland was a co-founder and partner in the investment management firm of Anderson, Hoagland and Company in St. Louis.

Mr. Hoagland served on the boards of the Berkeley Endowment Management Company and the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He was a member of the Investment Advisory Committee of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and served as an advisor to the investment committees of the Carnegie Corporation of New York, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation and the Kamehameha Schools (Bishop Trust). Mr. Hoagland graduated from Stanford University in Economics in 1958, and as a Marshall scholar, received an MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University in 1960 and earned an MBA from Harvard in 1962.
